Research says, 47% of internet users aged 16–64 are spending more time on social media. Brands, therefore, are looking to social media platforms to engage more audiences using Instagram shopping, Snapchat, and Facebook.

But savvy brands are looking at social media more broadly and gaining more storefronts and click-throughs via social shopping.

Here are few reasons why we should use social commerce more than before:

  • Social media makes personal touch and discoverability more dynamic. Shoppers necessarily don’t log in to shop, but storytelling and live streaming through influencers drive curiosity and awareness.
  • Brands can create different facets and fuel organic growth. For example, one can use Facebook shops to display discounted items and TikTok to go behind the scenes with staff to boost informal interaction.
  • Social shopping encompasses far more than in-app shopping tools. Organic and paid social advertising increases visibility and leads shoppers on a journey of discovery and brand channels.
  • An additional benefit of social shopping is the instant availability of untold and huge amounts of data. Brands can utilize customer feedback to analyze e-commerce trends. Staying on top of early changes in customer behavior can help make effective tweaks.
