According to a survey by Facebook, 83% of shoppers say they use Instagram to discover new products. 80% decide whether to buy something or not.

Needless to say that shopper-focused users are growing on social media platforms, and to convert them, brands would need to reduce friction and provide better engagement to their audience.

Here are a few best social commerce platforms for eCommerce brands:

Facebook shops: In May of 2020, Facebook announced its launch of Facebook Shops, a mobile-first shopping experience where retailers can create online stores for free. With over 160 million small businesses currently using the company’s apps, Shops is definitely a powerful way for businesses to easily connect with customers in a new way.

Instagram Shoppable: Instagram is adding a new feature to help connect online shoppers to product drops through its app. ‘Drops’ feature help brands create an engagement for new products that are not launched yet and notify their viewers when the product is available. Drops can be seen at the top of the shop tab. Shoppers will be able to discover, shop, and browse all the latest product launches, and also view the upcoming launches. Shoppers can also sign up to receive reminders about products they are interested in and look through products and collections from other drops that recently took place on the app.

Google Shopping: Google’s new shopping includes two new features. Users can search the products appearing in the screenshots: People take screenshots of those images, which they cannot save. So whenever someone takes screenshots in Google Photos, the new feature will take him to the search photo option in Lens and help him find similar products shown in the image.

‘Pick Up Where You Have Left Off’: Google noticed that viewers often drift to other tasks like opening emails or articles where they were supposed to complete their purchase. To prevent cart abandonment of this type, Chrome will remind them about the unfinished purchase by showing cards in the new tab.
